Tamil Nadu the hub of culture, arts and tradition has always been innovative in adapting to the changing eras. The state has evolved with time from innovation in arts to innovation in technology, which is established through the invention of the ‘Missile Man of India’ – Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, in defense technology that raised the stature of India in the global arena. With this background, and the aim to foster innovation midst the younger generation, ICT Academy has come up with ‘Tamil Nadu Student Innovator Award 2018’, for the students of technical education across the state.

Innovation no more happens on demand. Innovation has become the integral part of business, product, process, service and lifestyle. It is believed that innovation is the change that unlocks new value.

Innovation can only be nourished by creating environments for ideas to be developed. ICT Academy with this objective instituted the Student Innovator Award in the year 2012, through which the Academy thrives to enhance student knowledge and benefit society through professional education integrated with Research, Creativity and Innovation.

Tamil Nadu Student Innovator Award 2018 presents an opportunity for students to showcase their innovative projects state-wide and provides an environment to nurture their invention by discussing with the experts.

Tamil Nadu Student Innovator Award 2018 invites projects in the branches of Computer Science & Information Technology, Civil & Architecture, Mechanical & Automobile and Electrical & Electronics.

Who can apply?

Full time engineering students enrolled under UG and PG courses across Tamil Nadu in the streams mentioned.

Selection Process

Level 1

Initial scrutiny based on the project abstract

Level 2

The Top 10 Shortlisted Projects from each stream would be required to make presentation/demonstration in the front of Industry Jury members at Host College in the state.

Note: The projects that are in progress during the nomination must be completed successfully on or before 15 November 2018 for final selection review.
